When does Park Loop Road open?
Typically open April 15 to December 1. Plowing usually begins in April; the opening date depends entirely on snowpack and can swing several weeks.
Most of the loop is closed to vehicles from December 1 to April 15, weather permitting; the reopening can slip later in a heavy-snow year. Two short segments stay open year-round: the one-way Ocean Drive section past Sand Beach and Thunder Hole (reached via Schooner Head Road) and the spur to Jordan Pond (via Jordan Pond Road).
