Acadia National Park protects the natural beauty of the highest rocky headlands along the Atlantic coastline of the United States, an abundance of habitats, and a rich cultural heritage. At 4 million visits a year, it's one of the top 10 most-visited national parks in the United States. Visitors enjoy 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads.

A vehicle reservation is required to drive the Cadillac Summit Road from May 20 through October 25, 2026 — either a Sunrise or a Daytime reservation. 30% of slots release on Recreation.gov 90 days ahead (10 a.m. ET) and 70% two days ahead. $6 per vehicle, plus a valid park entrance pass. No reservation is needed to enter the rest of Acadia.
Reservation window: May 20 through October 25, 2026. Confirm on the official site before you travel — programs change year to year.
