When does Glacier Point Road open?
Typically open mid-May (2004–2023 median May 15; has ranged from late March to July) to mid-November (2004–2023 median November 14). Plowing usually begins in April; the opening date depends entirely on snowpack and can swing several weeks.
Closes for winter beyond the Badger Pass Ski Area turnoff; the road to Badger Pass stays open in ski season. A full-year rehabilitation closed the road for all of 2022, and construction delayed the 2023 opening to mid-July.
