When does Chinook Pass (SR 410) open?

Typically open late May, targeted to Memorial Day weekend to late October to mid-November. Plowing usually begins in April; the opening date depends entirely on snowpack and can swing several weeks.

Closed by snow across the pass each winter; WSDOT plows it open in spring, aiming for Memorial Day weekend. The lower west end to Crystal Mountain Boulevard stays open year-round. In 2024 a spring washout kept the pass closed for the whole season.
