The Parkway does not close for a fixed season, but individual sections close often and unpredictably — for ice and snow in winter, for rockslides, downed trees and fog year-round, and for construction. The high stretches around Mount Pisgah and Grandfather Mountain are the most closure-prone. The NPS keeps a real-time closure map.
